Django Girls

We want to give you an opportunity to dip your toe in to website development, learn how to program in python -- or just come to understand what it is that's going with all that typing and intimidating-looking black screens! It is much less scary than you think!

It's much more about being able to think creatively, logically and having language skills than how much of a "nerd" you are.

Come and be introduced in a happy, female-friendly environment with some amazing people!

It will take place on 11th of July at the Atlassian in Sydney.

Workshops are free of charge, but don’t wait too long to apply, as these workshops tend to be very popular!

Programming is actually really fun: it's creative, productive and it's like being able to do magic! So we're trying to bust down that barrier and introduce more people who are generally currently under represented in tech to some of the tools and people and environments that tech people are part of.

At DjangoGirls theres lots of friendly people around to give you all the support and care that you need. Hopefully you can even make new friends that you can continue to learn and develop with!

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

Do I need to bring my own laptop?

Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during workshops.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own. We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.

Is food provided?

Yes. Thanks to our wonderful friends at Atlassian, a light lunch will be served during workshops.

Although feel free to bring along your own favourite brain food snacks for you and your team!

Be a Coach!

Fill in the form here, but select the option to be a mentor. We would be delighted if you would like to join us as a mentor!

We will contact you :)
