Would you like to learn about how to build websites, but don’t know where to start? Learning how to code can seem like an impossible task so we’ve decided to put on a workshop to show 30 programming-beginners how it can be done, and get them excited about the world of technology!
Join us on 16th and 17th June 2017 at the Zoo Digital office in Sheffield for a workshop where you'll learn about programming, meet other motivated women and ultimately build your own website.
Django Girls Sheffield is a crash course that is aimed at total beginners. You don’t need to know anything about programming, we just expect you to bring your own laptop, to be able to commit the evening of Friday 16th June and all-day Saturday 17th June and to have a sufficient understanding of English so you’re able to follow our English tutorial.
The workshop is free of charge and some food and snacks will be provided.
Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
No! This workshop is for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about programming. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!
I do not live in Sheffield, can I still attend?
Of course! If you can get yourself to Sheffield, you should apply.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes. We have no hardware, so we expect you to bring your computer (and a charger) with you. It is also important for us that you will take home everything you’ll write and create during the workshop.
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
We will install everything together at the installation party on the Friday evening before the workshop.
Is food provided?
Yes. Thanks to our sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during the workshop.
We couldn't be here without the support from amazing people and organizations who donated money, knowledge and time to help us make this a reality. If you want to contribute and support our goal, please get in touch: sheffield@djangogirls.org
Meet the awesome coaches for the workshop!
