We will be setting the beat with laughter and coding on April 24 & 25 in Largo, Maryland. During this free workshop, High School girls will jump into the exciting world of building a website with Python & Django and meet new friends along the way. No experience required - just curiosity!
We believe the tech industry will benefit from bringing more women into engineering roles. As part of supporting that effort, we want to give you an opportunity to learn how to program.
April 24th will also feature an event open to Elementary and Middle School girls to get them interested and excited about computers and technology
The workshop is free of charge, but we have a limited number of seats available. Applications will be accepted until April 17th.

Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. It's free - you just need to be excited!
Who is this workshop aimed for?
Django Girls Largo is for High School girls who have basic knowledge of working with a computer and want to check out what programming is all about. Girls may bring a parent but are not required to. If parents elect to stay, they will need to provide their own lunches & snacks.
Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?
Not at all! This workshop is for beginners. No prior experience in programming is required.
Should I bring my own laptop?
Yes, you must bring your laptop. Our goal is for you to take home all of the code you write during the workshop so you can continue to experiment with it.
Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?
It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own.We will make sure that one of our coaches will help you out with this task.
We couldn't be here without the support from amazing people and organizations who donated money, knowledge and time to help us make this a reality. If you want to contribute and support our goal, please get in touch: largomd@djangogirls.org
