Django Girls

If you are a woman and want to learn how to make websites, we have good news for you: we are holding a free workshop for beginners!

Will this be an in-person event?

Yes! We will be in-person at H&R Block World Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.

Do I need to know anything about websites or programming?

No! Workshops are for beginners. You don’t need to know anything about it. However, if you have a little bit of technical knowledge (i.e. you know what HTML or CSS are) you still can apply!

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. We do not have hardware, so it is necessary that you bring your own computer. Furthermore, it is important that you are able to take home everything you write and create during workshops. If you are unable to secure a laptop, please email us at kansascity@djangogirls.org and we'll see what we can do.

Do I need to have something installed on my laptop?

It would be helpful to have Django installed before workshops, but we wouldn't expect you to install anything on your own. Join us virtually the week before the event to get your laptop ready for the workshop!

I don't live in Kansas City, can I attend?

Of course! Groups of women from Omaha and Oklahoma City have joined us in prior years.

Is food provided?

Yes. Thanks to our sponsors, snacks and lunch will be served during workshops.

Applications for mentors are closed. Please check back next year.
